Many fluent speakers of our language are Elders living in various regions of Alaska. We are actively fundraising to travel to their communities and support their vital work in preserving the language. I have pictures of some esteemed Elders I have worked with over the years, whom I respectfully acknowledge: Markle Pete, Helen McLean, and Jeanie Maxim. They are all held in the highest regard, and I hope to continue their essential work in a meaningful way. Many fluent speakers of our language are Elders residing in various regions of Alaska. We are actively fundraising to travel to their homes and support their vital work on the language.
